In typical design the insert length(L) is approximately 1.9x, the outer diameter(D1) is 1.5x to 1.55x and the installation tip(D2) is 1.28x to 1.32x. The plastic body hole diameter is approximately 101% of the installation tip (D2). And the minimum wall thickness should be greater than 0.52x. Let's understand the design parameters for M3 insert.
